Where are execution and conviction telling different stories?
Separate alignment from activity. See where each changes across functions, tenure, levels, or locations—and surface what lies beneath the pattern.

With the Vision. In the Work.
Work can continue after conviction has weakened. Belief can remain strong where contribution has stalled. Within Map gives leaders a disciplined picture of both—and of the conditions shaping what they see.
Three applications
Within Map separates conviction from contribution wherever people are asked to carry something together. The setting changes what leadership needs to understand—and how the model should be used.
Separate alignment from activity. See where each changes across functions, tenure, levels, or locations—and surface what lies beneath the pattern.
Distinguish conviction from service and capital, then locate where commitment may lack access, role, or a credible path to contribution.
Surface assumptions about purpose, role, readiness, voice, and conflict before technical structures harden them into permanent responsibilities.
Explore the Family Legacy Map →The core distinction
Organizations often treat visible activity as proof of alignment—or quiet conviction as evidence of disengagement. Within Map separates two questions that leaders need to see together.
Do people believe in and support the direction being pursued?
Are people meaningfully participating in and carrying the work forward?
Together, the two dimensions reveal four recognizable positions. The rooms describe a person's present relationship to the group—not a personality type, performance rating, or judgment of worth.
An illustrative organization
An anonymous cohort map shows how conviction and contribution are distributed across a group. The work then moves beneath that shape—toward concentrations, contrasts, and conditions that deserve leadership attention.
Synthetic example. Each dot represents one anonymous response; no client or pilot data is shown.
Support for the direction extends beyond the people currently carrying substantial responsibility.
Some people remain deeply involved while holding material reservations leadership should understand rather than dismiss.
The map directs inquiry. It does not pretend that plotted position alone establishes the cause.
Four rooms · Four leadership postures
Placement matters because it changes the question leadership should ask next.
They believe in the direction and carry meaningful weight. Deploy them. Do not dump more on them. Ask what must be protected for their contribution to remain sustainable.
They believe, but contribution lags. Investigate what stands between conviction and meaningful participation: clarity, access, capacity, role—or something else.
They are neither convinced nor meaningfully participating, but they are still present. Understand the distance before trying to close it.
They are contributing, but conviction has broken down. Give dissent structure. Their experience may reveal a flaw, a fracture, or an unspoken cost of execution.
Beyond placement
Two groups can occupy the same room for very different reasons. Within Map examines the surrounding conditions that make a position healthy, strained, sustainable, or ready to change.
The room tells us where people stand. Texture tells us what kind of room it is.
Conviction and contribution sit within conditions that appear broadly reinforcing and sustainable.
Leadership implication: Protect what is working.
People continue to believe and contribute, but uneven surrounding conditions suggest that the position may be costly to sustain.
Leadership implication: Do not confuse endurance with health.
Profile labels and values are illustrative.
Texture does not replace the map. It helps leadership interpret the shape without mistaking placement for cause.
Two views · One promise
Within Map is designed to give leaders a useful group picture without turning the process into individual surveillance.
Leadership receives the anonymous organization-level picture: the distribution of WITH and IN, meaningful group contrasts, Texture patterns, and protected written Signals.
Each participant sees only their own WITH/IN placement, without a room name. The reading is a starting point for reflection—not a personality type or permanent label.
Written responses are examined for recurring themes and presented to leadership as protected Signals—not as attributed comments or a searchable comment bank.
What leaders receive
The final report is designed to create a useful leadership conversation—not a dashboard dump. It prioritizes the strongest and most decision-relevant patterns, and it separates what the evidence establishes from what the pattern may suggest.
Support for the direction is broad; active ownership is more concentrated.
The gap may reflect an uncertain path into meaningful responsibility.
Which obstacles are limiting supportive people from carrying greater weight?
How an engagement works
Define the cohort, organizational context, and a limited set of useful group views.
Participants complete a confidential survey through a neutral, invitation-specific link.
Scores, variation, and protected written Signals are examined together rather than in isolation.
Leadership receives a structured report designed to support inquiry and proportionate action.
Designed with restraint
Leaders need a trustworthy group picture, not a tool for identifying individual respondents.
The findings distinguish what the evidence establishes from what leadership still needs to investigate.
Recommendations remain connected to the strength, consistency, and limits of the information.

For organizations, communities, and families ready for a more honest view of conviction and contribution.
